Hi All,

I have finally got my Drivers rocker removed so that I can dig in and find all the rust inside that needs to be fixed.

Here are some shots of what I have so far. Looks like the Floor already has a non stock patch on it, it's solid though so I am not worried. The front cab corner has a hole in it with tons of chunky rust puring out. The outer floor is shot but luckily the rear corner looks pretty salvageable.

How do I get to the 4 bolts that are coming trough the back side and sticking out? What are they holding up?

Any Advice on how I should proceed, should I patch things with home made patch panels or just buy direct fit stuff from brothers & LMC?

Any comments \ advice appreciated.

Thanks

The four bolt area is a sandwich of a couple different pieces. From the outside moving into the cab it goes like this.

(1st) A pillar- What you can seen from the outside.
(2nd) Inner rocker
(3rd) front cab support
(4th) Fender support- This is the last piece of the puzzle and only uses the front two bolts out of the four.

You need to get into the rocker box to actually remove all of the bolts. You may be able to get in there also by cutting out the inner rocker and removing them that way. I'd kinda bet that the front cab support has the cancer also though.

Take a look at my thread, I put a ton of pics up of all of these areas.

I wouldn't buy any sheet metal from LMC or brothers. I did and didn't use a lot of it. The piece that I did use from LMC was the outer rocker, I currently have it cut open so it will come out flush with the door, quarter and fender. I'm going to need to put a filler strip down the entire rocker.

Tri-pro had good parts but went out of biz last year. I have had good success with KeyParts. To my knowledge, GMCPAULS and Classic Heartbeat sell these and work well.
