LOOKING TO SWAP A 4 DOOR S10 BLAZER ON FULL SIZE K5 FRAME,WAS WONDERING IF ANY ONE OUT THERE WOULD BE INTRESTED IN SHARRING SOME INFO TO HELP MAKE THE SWAP EASIER.WE HAVE A 82 K5 WITH A BAD TITTLE, DONT MATCH # ON TRUCK.SOMEONE DID A BODY SWAP WITH AN 85 TUB THAT IS RUST FREE.WE DONT HAVE THE S10 YET BUT WE HAVE A LINE ON A FEW OF THEM,FRIEND WORKS AT LOCAL SALVAGE YARD.MY MAIN CONCERN IS HOW TO MOUNT THE BODY & FRAME TOGTHER:hack: :grind:

bad title ? why just because it dont have same# ? people do it all the time just dont tell the inspector or the man. and if spoted body rusted off and found good body bad frame doner and switched it. as long as the body # is clean. if old tag is avalible switch it . its done all the time by body shops and just take your time and need the star rivits, not somthing easy to get but have seen some on ebay at times.

not the answer i was looking 4  like the s10 look a little better.i have a hnd full of k5 blazer dont want to do a restore want to do some hard core wheelin:saweet: :saweet: :saweet: :saweet: :saweet: :saweet: :saweet: :saweet: :saweet: :saweet: :saweet: :saweet: :saweet: :saweet: :saweet: :saweet: :saweet:

The body mounts will all have to be made. thats the only "major" part, but there are TONS of minor parts. It would actually be easier with a K30 frame because it's pretty straight from the cab back. I made my mounts out of tubing and 1/4" steel plate. Once the k5 tub is removed, and the baby blazer tub is sitting on there, it should become apparent on where to make the mounts. The k5 frame is also narrower than the s-10's. Good luck!

Sorry to bump this old ass post... but I've seen the progress on said S10 K5, and it looks fuggin sweet... just needs some fenders and it will be street legal again... heh. Of course, it is still hanging over the frame by some straps, but it's in place and looks :pimp1: :pimp1: :pimp1:

Dave... ROCK ON... :saweet: :saweet: :saweet: :saweet: :saweet: :saweet:

Ok, now I want to see someone be different and put a K5 body on a S10 chassis.... :D

Off Subject A Tad

Sorry, but this just reminded me of a Blazer with a Mercedies body on it. All lifted up with mudders. Anyway, it was cool/funny looking :p:

Naa, it's gone now. I tried to find it on ebay. Was there a couple days ago

Looked like this one, but about 4 feet higher with 36in mudders. It was all shiney with all leather interior too. But the 4wd shifter was on the passenger side floor
