Friends truck. Says sometime the clutch sticks to the floor and it gets stuck in gear. Also grinds a bit. Also only does it when its cold out and the engines cold. Any ideas? Says its been going on all winter
dunno, its newer than 2000, think 02? And i just know its stick. I dont know much about manuals other than how to drive them. Theres tranny gear oil AND clutch fluid? I told him i though either he low on gear oil or had water in it or something. But theres seperate clutch fluid? Where is the resevivor? how do you check and drain and refill it? What does it refill it with? Sorry im such a nub with this stuff
Hydrolic clutch basically works like your brakes. You have a mastercylinder that pressurises a line with fluid and what is called a slave cylinder is what actuates the clutch engagement/disengagement. Most hydrolic clutches take Dot3 brake fluid, but check the owners manual first. Just like your brakes, when any water gets into the fluid weird things happen.
