sagging headliner

Indeed, I think the best advise is to go to Jo-Ann Fabrics. Find something you like. For me, with a Suburban and gray interior, I found this "speaker box" fabric (not the fuzzy stuff) that was a really nice match. It is thin though, but nobody who rides in it knows the difference:

I used 3M Super 77 spray glue, which they also carry at Jo-Ann fabrics!

Just make sure to scrape all the old foam off. It's not the glue that generally fails, it's the foam decaying. I had that junk blowing around when I was driving before, and my wife would not let me take our daughter for a ride until I fixed it. Good time as ever I suppose!

Good luck. It's ok to go to the fabric store by yourself. That's what I kept telling myself while I was there...

I also used JoAnn Fabric for the material and went to Pepboys for the spray adhesive. The adhesive from JoAnn fabrics all had small print that said do not use on headliners, thats why I got the one from autoparts store.

I picked up some headliner material from Joan Fabrics. I'm thinking about attaching my original vinyl to the Joan Fabric foam and then attaching that to the cardboard. The original vinyl is in good shape. It may have shrunk some but I think it is workable. The card board is in great condition. The old foam easily brushes of both the card board and the original vinyl. Thoughts? I would have two layers of glue then.

just make sure you get rid of ALL the crumbly foam... apply 3M spray adhesive to BOTH surfaces to be glued (so, 4 sides in your case) and wait till it tacks up... by far the biggest issue people have is impatience and sticking them together too soon... that's how contact cement works..

i tend to like the 90 series glue from them for headliners as opposed to the 77... also, a plastic bondo spreader and dry sponge work well for smoothing it.. start from the center and work out...
