Hey y'all, hope this message finds you well. I just bought my first K5 recently and new to the forum world. I try to do all the work myself and just wanted to start a thread to see if there's any other K5 owners in the San Antonio/ Hill country area that like to meet up and cruise, work on rigs, or talk truck with. I'm excited to be here and hope to here more about some local builds.

I'm a little ways away here in Waco but I'm in TX and checking in!

I'm considering a move to that area as well, would love to hear more about it! Are there any good places the wheel around there?

I'm not really looking for hardcore crawling or anything, mostly just looking for open terrain or trails. Im originally from southwestern AZ where you can just basically explore the wide open desert, I think I was spoiled.

Yeah I'm in the burbs of San Antonio. There is no offroading except pay to play.
However there are many people here who wheel. There are a few die hard square body people who are local but I'm one of the only goobers who wheels one.
Javier "skullcrusher" from skullcrusher adventures on YouTube is here too. He doesn't wheel much right now. He's building his blazer.

None that are open to the public that I know of, I plan to do some looking once I get my truck a little more trustworthy right now it's down so I won't know for awhile.

Has anyone tried out Hidden Falls adventure Park? Over by Marble Falls. Watching videos looks pretty cool, might want to take my son for a camping/wheeling trip there.

I have been several times with that guy you just met. It's from mild to wild. And it can certainly sneak up on you if you don't watch it.

This is the end of f.m. TRO.
Not every spot is like this but it can quickly get out of hand. I would never go alone.

Damnit!
Yeah, I might want to get a cage b4 I take my son too.

Happy to see so many replies!! I have a square body blazer, I'll post pics when I get home, there are a lot of utility easements open to the public that you can go up and down, some are crazy crawls if you look in the right place and done some are places you could teach kids to drive. Besides that I like cruising the hill country. @Scribbles i think our rigs are identical hahahaha

There is always the Helotes power line trail off Kyle Seale and 1604.

Lots of rocky climbs on limestone. Even found old beat up K5 Blazer top out there back in 2004!

Its not exactly privately owned
