Damn, I'm back. I threw the trickle charger on the K5 since its been sitting for 4 months. Battery was totally dead. I am getting ready for the winter to do some snow runs and some corral canyon hopefully. I got to get this thing going!

Got my baby running again. Threw a new cat convertor and she passed smog again:) Got a new battery as well. I haven't even took this thing rock crawling since I have had it for 4 years now!! Kinda scary with 3.08's and 35's with 10 bolts, but I can't wait!

When? I wanna hit Carveacre soon.

Trying to get this K5 regeared before doing some long trips. i took my K5 out to Alpine the other day and I got tired of watching the engine temp needle climb. I have to shift from D to OD then back and forth so I dont overheat the engine and kill the tranny as well. I may be putting in 4.88's!

If you need gear work I recommend Hughes Racing Components in Santee.

I wouldn't waste money on regearing 10bolts though...one tons are easy to come by, 4.56 with a Detroit in the back if you get military axles. I know a guy selling a pair in Yuma, posi front 60 I think. You could get one tons for what you'd pay for regearing, maybe less.

I still need to get my rear shaft lengthened before I hit anything offroad. How much do you guys charge for that. I think it needs about 3 inches of length added.

I'll second Hughes for gear work. Jason has done my Blazer a couple or times now. What does a used d60 front like you mentioned cost? A range anyway.

If you wait and hunt long and hard enough you can get a good deal. Right now a Chevy 60 could go for say 500-800. I scored my Military 4.56 (detroit rear) one tons for $200.00...Stvdiego on SCUFF (above) tells me he sees 60s in the pull-your-part a lot. Half price weekend they should be under $100.00.

I have a 60 I might sell.

Jason is awesome! He let me watch & learn as he explained every step of installing my locker and what to do WHEN I break an axle shaft & how to fix it.
He moved his shop & I lost contact- Can anybody help me find him again?
