What are the best desert/prerunner forums? :dunno:

I've been looking around at random info, as I need it, on Google.
I know there has to be a standout forum, for the desert guys.

So, I'm basically lookin' for the CK5 of sand..... :thumb:

I need to get to researchin' this stupid "Go Fast K5" project. :woot:

Thanks in advance....

To make a solid axle truck go fast its shocks shocks shocks, got spend the coin to make the axle able to react fast, and in perfect control no extra rebound, no extra anything, react to terrain and boom done.

Thats key, also I would say stay away from full hydro unless you wanna spend big coin, so in order to keep steering awesome that would mean a 3 link with panhard or 4 link with panhard.

If you really wanna do a go fast blazer take out the front suspension and replace with a custom A arm, twin I beam type arrangement.

Rear is easy same as front but with a single triangulated 4 link, the lower bars being straight and the uppers being triangulated.

BEEEEEGGGGGG motor :D

Lots of good sites but most go fast guys have left the solid front axle in about 1980, I even remember seeing Fords that guys put Chevy motors in cause the Ford suspension was better and ( at the time) Chevy motors made more power for cheaper

gofastbroncos.com
naxja.org, net or whatever

try the magazines as well.... petersons's4x4 and offroadweb

You can get a used pair of shocks in decent/great shape out of thoose forums the bigger the better (2.5's), the travel will depend on you.... bump stops is a must not the fancy ones but keep that issue in mind.

Up to you if you want to convert to I beams or not, i use soft ride leafs and they do well, on back same thing leafs just have the longer leafs in there so it will get softer, thats pretty much a conservative way to go if you want all out jumps and stuff then start saving..

SImotorsports has a good chevy, ibeams.... check it out..
