Yes..... boggers are really that bad in sand. I am not exagerating one bit. Unless of coarse you wanna dig giant holes in the sand lol :haha:Also there is no airing down with boggers 'cause they are so stiff.

My buddy used 35" boggers on his blazer and had no problems. Just aired down(btw you can soften the tire up by driving on them with just a couple of psi on the road). He dug alot before airing down, after that he did fine. Acted like paddles.

I dont see how that would be possible. They have such a thick sidewall to begin with. I had 3 psi in mine and barley noticed that it squatted. Unless it was coarse vs. fine sand maybe I dunno. It didnt work for me.

We only go to glamis to play in the sand. And driving on the street with them gets them hot and breaks down the sidewall some. Just be careful and dont do too much or you could get hurt or ruin your tires. Alot of guys recommend doing that to swampers, especially the SXs since they are really stiff. I did that with my SXs and made a noticeable difference on and off the street.

So was I. My buddy used the swamper boggers, I had the SX, same deal though with softening the tires. BTW SXs have an even stiffer sidewall than the boggers.

Fine like beach sand, and really like powder snow. You just have to use the heavy right foot and have fun. With boggers and some hp you will have some nice roostertails:D

I think the key in that situation [like you said] is having some hp...but for most of us that don't have huge hp/tq numbers something like the BFG AT's and IRoks are the best bet...

Tires for the sand... well even though i HATED my MT baja claws everywhere else, they did realy well in the sand and deep powder snow. I see alot of BFG at's on the front of stuff in jerico but my 97 gmc has them all around and I couldnt hardly get around the camp ground. However it was realy dry the time I had them down there and they are not very wide tires.(265x75x16) Also the dreaded thornbird appears to be very popular on small rails or buggies. But I think any tire that is wide and has some bite should do well. Years ago my uncle had a small 2 seat rail and he ran MT baja belted HP tires all around like a 31x12.50 on the front and (I think) 35x18 on the back. aAnd it went everywhere on those. Im not sure they still make this tire.

Yeah they still make them...uber wide tires available in that tread pattern from MT...

IMO, the best DOT tire for the sand is the Dick Cepek Fun-Country. For the most part, mud tires don't work well for the sand. The only fast truck that did really well with mud tires that I've seen was a 440 powered Dodge truck with 38" Gumbo-Mudders.

thanks for the input have you guys seen the new mud type paddle tire that came out last year looks like a desert trak and a mud tire combined lighter tan dirt tires but heavier than a paddle and you can drive them on pavement for short distances, not made in very many sizes or very big though a 35 i think. i have the 38.5 14.50 16 irok now and was going to go to a 44 19 16 bogger but now after this i think i will get the 42 15 16 irok. what about cut boggers would that help in the sand more like paddle tires in design, if i get them i will be cutting them atleast the backs.

also not trying to race in the sand just dune it a little mobbed the dunes last year and i only needed 2 wheel drive, till i got into some harry stuff or was pulling some one out.it can get preety harry in the dunes when you are in something this big long and some what high.. but that half the funIt sucks to have a burb and the only truck too much room for everyone and there stuff but oh well.

Why waste the time and money on cutting boggers when Iroks are a proven tread design in the sand (and almost everywhere else)? I vote that you just stick with the Iroks even if it is in a different size...

no kidding bro...at the very end when he was just rolling off the throttle it instantly started to bury itself...and although thats a big buggy I bet its not too heavy...
