I have 200K miles on my 2011 Yukon XL that stopped being a daily driver around 2017 and it's getting to be time to either get rid of it or invest some money into it. Currently it has a Cognito 3" leveling kit with A-arms rolling on H2s and Mud Terrains. If I keep it, I'll probably swap in a Duramax when this 6.0L LS finally keels over. Anyway, I was thinking about doing a 6" lift and before I drop about $4K on Cognito, BDS, or something else, I think it'd be prudent to look into a solid axle swap. I can buy Ford and Dodge (driver side drop) Dana 60s on marketplace all day.

I don't do a lot of off-roading, just the occasional Tennessee back-roads so maybe some mud (and in the snow and ice when it get's a little too squirrely for driving my GT350). I'd like to keep the H2s. I'd prefer to keep the stock GM calipers and rotors but that's not a requirement, especially if there's something else that will work better. I think I'd like to have leaf springs but not opposed to coils. I have no problem welding spring mounts, crossmembers, etc but I'd rather not be spending months fabing...basically would be looking for a bolt or weld in kit. I really don't know which front axle to go with...Ford if I do leafs and Dodge if I do coils?

Please give me some advice and direction here.

I have been following this guys kits for a while, as SASing my GMT800 Tahoe has been on my mind. It uses a Dodge front axle.
The guy has just about everything except the money tree to pay for all that.
Looks like good quality and well thought out
