SAS options?

I'm gonna slowly piece some SAS stuff together. for my 2000 Silverado. So far I've got a 60/70HD combo and some x-over stuff. Want to run 6-8" of lift.

Whats the best way to go?

REAR - Shackle flip, extended shackles, 2" lift springs.

Get some nice, springs, so you have a nice ride. Get either 6" BDS, or Alcans.

First thing I'd do is a lot of reading. I'm contemplating doing this same thing and started reading. There is some good info in the IFS section here, Pirate has some good stuff if you search around, and the Full Size Chevy forums have a nice sticky on this topic here.

A couple of interesting things to keep in mind are that, depending on which Dana 60 you have (Chevy or Ford) you may need a new transfer case to account for passenger vs. driver side drop. Also, if you have the autotrac case you'll need a new one, too. For the front lift keep in mind that you'll gain somewhere between 3 and 6 inches just from the brackets, depending on which kit you use, so that will be added to the spring lift you get.

Also theres a new kit for useing coils on the front that you may want to look into. I figure as long as your doing custom work, you may as well do the best you can right from the get go. The coils would give a very nice ride. I belive the kit reuses ford axle and springs and possibly the traction beams. Im sure theres differnt kits to account for various differnces in what you already have. TAKE LOTS OF PICS they help.

I believe last months issue of petersons 4wheel and offroad did the kit using a 78-79 ford HP44 fullsize axle and it reuses all the same brackets. Im sure its on the web site.

Link it. I would rather link a truck up front then leaf's in the rear is easy.
