Hey guys, I am decently new to chevys so im still kinda learning and researching. I recently picked up a 92 half ton with a 4" sus and 3" BL and 35" street tires. Problem is as we all know the IFS. So I am able to get my hands on a D44/14bolt combo and also a 203 and 205 from older chevys.

Questions are:
First will the IFS hold to some moderate wheeling?? Rocks, hills, tight trails

Second will a 203/205 double bolt right up to my tranny??

Any info/direction would be helpful!!!

Sorry if I got carried away on pics but thats the terrain I am going to put the IFS up to. Do you think itll handle it??

I guess it depends on how light on the gas pedal you are, and if you plan on driving around those obstacles or not. I would say there is about a 75% chance that if you do the things in those pics with your truck, it will brake. Also, a SAS is pretty easy on those trucks if you have the tools.

I know guys who have put some serious abuse on the OBS chevy trucks with ifs front ends but I personally wouldn't do it... especially on a 1/2 ton with 35's.
If you really want to wheel the truck (and drive it home at the end of the day) begin researching a SAS.

looks like fun, if you take it slow and what did that 203 come from if it was a th350 it will have the same spline count but it is a little to long, because i am doing a sas on my 89 shortbed chevy, putting 60 under it with a 203/205 doubler

Dude that post is like 9 months old. Please look at post dates before you reply when you find them searching...
