Saw a new antiwrap idea that looked pretty good

It'll bind and also induce a lot of anti-squat. Mike (Mr echobit) ran a set-up almost identical that and the anti-squat was so bad he could pick up a front tire with moderate throttle while turning left or right.

the problem with that design, is that the spring wrap will try to strech the bar and compress the spring. since the bar wont strech, the spring is being pushed forward. the spring will bend and wear the front spring eye bushing out eventually.

you need to locate the axle with 2 links to eliminate axle wrap, alot of universal axlewrap bars require the spring to be the second link. the leaf spring was never designed to have the force applied the way. so it may bend the spring depending on how bad the axle wrap is.

rene are you talkin about the rancho set up?? how much does that go for anyways?

That would be cool to watch:D

He had video of it up at one point...before ripping everyone off, closing his website and skipping town. :doah:

To kill anti-wrap you need to triangulate the diff so it can't rotate. Using the leaf spring itself as one leg of that triangle is a dumb idea.

so do the things rancho work or?

I use those on my K20 pulling truck. It reduced wheel hop/axle wrap but did not cure it (especially on the street when planting the skinny pedal :D ). I run them on the street but remove the shocks and run a SOLID bar when pulling *(but I also limit the amount of upward axle travel with removable blocks when runnnig the solid bars or otherwise too much force is placed on the bar and mounts as the axle tries to move upward).

I am planning on running a Ladder bar setup in the future that connects to the top and bottom of the axle and uses a short shackle in the front. FWIW.

They are better than nothing, but not a total cure.
