SBC Aluminum Heads...

I have used several sets of AFR heads, never had a problem with any of them and I like the different sizes of ports and combustion chambers offered to match with the type of engine being built.

Hey Greg...thanks for your input...
I have researched AFR / Brodix / Edelbrock
heads,,AFR does have a pretty good selection, AIIRC..they have a 3/4" deck thickness. some others only have 9/16" decks.

I need to pm you about getting a quote for upgrading my T-350 out of this truck... I want something fairly strong, transbraked, 2800-3000 stall.

but that is probably after the first of the year..

I used the 64 CC ones, part #5089.
I had to get longer pushrods as per the installation guide.
The exhaust ports were apparently moved slightly as I had some slight problems with manifolds hitting head bolts.

yeah... I can't take a chance with the raised exhaust port heads... headers for LUV V8 swaps are getting hard to find.. .not much out there. I have hooker supercomp headers now, so I need to work with what I've got...

I pulled the valve covers and ran the numbers for the existing heads....they are some of the worst heads out there...
462624 - 76 cc Chambers... very thin and crack prone...good for boat anchors.

So 64 cc chamber heads and a cam swap should wake up this little motor up...
headed to Summit tomorrow... :waytogo:

Actually, those heads are a good flowing head they get the bad rap from cracking IF/WHEN you overheat them.

How much was the carb? 350?
You're basically halfway there to an EFI unit.
Couple guys on here would even sell you slightly used snipers

try 650.00...and no...not an EFI guy...
I like my old school mechanical fuel pumps and carbs...they don't leave you stranded...

I'll leave EFI to the younger kids that like to hookup laptops to their tuner cars...
