school me on back spacing

i have a pair of of suburban 8 lug axles im gonna put on the truck, but i wanna keep my a 15 inch rim cause i Just baught the tires, will a 15 clear that monsterous brake drum in the rear, and what kinda of backspacing do i need? how do you determine that.

I just got new rims and posted the same question...Do a serch under my name.
To sum it up, go 3.75. You'll have to grind the calipers some, but sticking the rim out any farther will give you nasty bearing issues. IE to much stress on them.
