73 to 87 stock fronts leaf springs:

-Are they all interchangable, 1/2, 3/4 and 1 tons?

-Is the stock lift any different between 1/2, 3/4 and 1 tons?

-Are the spring rates any different between 1/2, 3/4 and 1 tons?

-Do they all have the same number of leafs?

Thanks,

Eric M.

From what I can tell the 1973 to 1991 front leaf length is the same between all three ratings but the number of leaves ranges from two to three depending on the spring package.

I have seen many Blazers with a three leaf pack and than I had a 1983 Crew Cab Dually with a 454 granny 4-spd and over loads in the rear and it inly had two leaves up front . That truck actually looked like a 2WD when I bought it because the front springs were in such a negative ( more so than they are suposed to be ) arch.

I am sure the rates are different for various trucks but the two & three leaf front packs seem to be what was offered.
