14 bolt disk brakes....

im going to order a set of brackets from some where.. not sur eon what place yet as of price...

dont they use all half ton parts

calipers and what not but i need 8 lug rotors?

pretty much all the 14bolt disk brake kits out there use 3/4 ton rotors. I'm sure someone uses something else, but that will be what you get from any of the vendors here. 1/2 and 3/4 calipers use the same rough casting, so you can use either with the kits as well.

there is a whole bunch more to this than just getting the brackets and correct parts...you need to make sure you get the correct brake lines that will bolt up to the calipers and to your existing hard line. do a search on here for it. thats how i came up with all my part numbers to get my stuff. Kert at DIY4X has good brackets that dont use the lil spacers which is a lot better than having them. There is also testing your brakes when you get done. if the rear locks up to soon you might need either an adjustable proportioning valve is a 1 ton master cylinder. some people didnt need either. its a trial and error type thing. hope this helps. oh by the way your hard brake lines should be 3/16th's.

I bought my brackets from Sky-Manufacturing. They were ~$95.
Bought all my calipers/rotors from the Zone for the front end of a 77 K20, and the lines for a 79 Chevelle I think.

Everything, including the brake-prop. valve came out to about $300 I think.

For a Chevelle or Chevette? I bought my hoses for a '79 Chevette. They are the same part number for both sides and are about a foot long.

oh... You are probably right. Whats the part#? I'd reckognize that.

BH86572 from O'Reilly Auto Parts, $12.99 each.

Here's a pic of the hose... nothing fancy

I haven't done a disc conversion but if Kert at DIY4X makes it I would buy from him. I've been really happy with the quality and service.
