I just made what has to be the score of the day.

I just bought a used JD2 model 3 bender that came with 3 sets of dies. 1 5/8, 1 1/2, and 1 inch dies. The 1 1/2 and 1 inch dies are 180 degree units and the 1 5/8 is 120 degrees. I also got the nice JD2 tubing notcher, and the guy threw in 6 new hole saws.

He bought all of this new and used it to build 1 race car. It all still looks new!

I got it all for the amazingly low price of...

Good deal. I've got one on order right now. Can you say over $1000 with only 2 dies. /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif It was a Christmas present tho.

So when you going to build me some shock hoops to go along with that sweet rear suspension you sold me? /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Nice score

now i really don't like you anymore /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Thanks guys! I don't think anyone wants what will probably come out of it in the beginning, there is no telling what it will look like! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I expect to screw up some tubing before I get "good" at using it. I also scored a 15 inch stroke hydraulic cylinder, now I only need a pump to run it with!

Opinions: Should I go with chrome-moly or just regular DOM for my cage? The real benifit I see with the chrome-moly is the weight savings. I picked up a 1 5/8" 8' stick of each last night and was amazed at the weight difference.

Unless you are an accomplished welder, I would stay away from chromoly., especially if you're gonna be learning. Cheaper to play with DOM or even HREW.

lucky, man I've been wanting one for along time, my buddy has one (he won't sell) I can borrow it whenever, but my own would be nice to have my own. last night at school the bender they have there looks like it was all flame cut out by them because it wasn't that clean but it works, I was thinking of buying some dies and borrowing my buddys to copy and cut out my own on that torch tracing machine /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Holy cow dude I just got the JD2 notcher for almost half that price! You got a hell of a deal. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
