Well my brother(84zz4ss) and I went to an auction today to look at some trucks, particularly a M1008 that was listed. There was also a C30 listed to look at as well. We ended up Getting one home for $750.00. Pretty good score.

It turned out that they had listed the C30 incorrectly and that it was actually a M1008 K30 also, how convenient for us. Got the second for the same price as the first. Now we have 2, so both of us now have our D60's and associated other parts, detroited 14BFFs.

And our deepest "sincere" apologies to those in the Pensacola area that we didn't tell about the auction.

Since you sound like you are parting the trucks out, I want to buy 2 of the shackles off the front or rear bumpers as I have all the brackets and 2 shackles but still need 2 more to complete them.

Wanna sell me 2 of them? :deal:  :waytogo:

Helluva deal! :waytogo:

I'm currently working on my own "score" right now. I'm slowly picking away at a 90 CC V3500 srw. The motor in it is shot, and when I ask the owner to think about what he want's for it.. all I get is "It aint worth much".

I'm in no hurry since I already have a 60/14 .. but I'd rather it get used by a "wheeler" , than end up rusting away in a pasture.

From What I here those things are POS and don't have any of the options that You claimed they had. It's ok though just take them to My Sisters house in Panama City (yeah just leave them on the front lawn) and I'll get rid of them for You :wink1:

Wes - I think we can work some sort of deal for 2 shackles.

The parting out may take some time depending on the wife's mood about the yard art. We'll be sure to give locals and CK5 guys first shot at parts. At least they are camo and blend in!

Have to give props to Scott's Duramax and my recently rebuilt 8274 for getting these loaded up & home.

I would like to find a CC to put a diesel and my 3/4 axles under and tow with it. I've got all the parts but the A/C which is a must have.

Thanks for all the kind words fellas, we really lucked out! :D

It's just a small little local auction. Really nothing there anyone would be interested in.

They run now too!!

Had to toss the batteries as all four wouldn't take a charge. After dropping in some borrowed optimas and making sure they were getting fuel both of them fired off!! The Florida heat is good for something.

At least one needs some glow plug or GP controller work and the heater core needs to be bypassed. The other needs a tranny cooler line.

They both ran and drove through all gears and 4 Low and Hi. The detroit in the rear sure makes it easy to do donuts. There also has to be some type of LSD or locker in the d60 the way that the steering pulled in 4wd.

I will not have a mosquito problem for the next couple months with all the smoke that came out of them after not running for a year or more, according to the city mechanic.

I can' t believe they started like they did, I was ready to have to help trace all the electrical and other junk you see under the hood in these things. :D

Let me know what he ends up wanting for it (assuming, of course, you end up not wanting it for yourself). I'm looking for a d60/14FF combo for my K5 since I decided to restore my '81 dually instead of parting it out and swapping parts with a buddy for D70 SRW. Thanks.
