At the same time if the bolt is too large to make it past the valves you can go though the intake side with a magnet and get it from there.

ooooooohhhh, maybe I should read more closely then. 
hmm, well that really sucks, I would try the spin, turn, shake, grabber, magnet technique. Hopefully it should eventually fall out, maybe if you can get a good idea of where its at in the block you can pop a freeze plug and retrieve it through that? Good luck.
