Pardon the title, but I was wondering if anybody has found a better way to get oem style screws and bolts and stuff rather than LMC...they are crazy high on their screws and fasteners...:eek1:

Keep in mind that I am restoring and I want to keep it as close to stock as possible

I just ordered a bumper and bolts from classicparts.com. Seems to be pretty good stuff. You could try them.

Hey i like what you are doing with your rig. Anyway back to the topic try nutsandbolts.com, click on automotive and you are good to go. The only problem i see is you have to buy packs of 25 and up, but they have everything.

They have tons of stuff too...price comparison:

LMC Battery hold down bolt 1 each 30-0230BOLT-W/WASHER A/R 0 $0.95
Nuts and Bolts
25 bolts = $13.50 $13.50/25 = $0.54 each

a good deal if you need 25

If you have a tractor supply retail store, they also carry bolts with the factory black oxide finish and integrated washer. If you just want normal bolts, they also have grade 5 and 8 hardware priced by the pound. That's the best deal I've ever found.

Farm and Fleet is the same way, but limited to the midwest I think.

I get a lot of the specialty bolts here...

But I don't know if they ship stuff. They are 2 miles from my work and have every automtive fastener you can think of. I would download their "auveco" catalog, and look for a local supplier of that brand. They have everything.

I used to sell specialty nuts, bolts and moulding clips, etc, mace by a company called "W & E. ,they had a suitcase type display with samples of various fasteners and clips that we sold in bulk to body shops...not sure if they are still in bussiness--their prices were sometimes high, but they also had many OEM style fasteners no other brand had..

I dont know if McMaster-Carr stocks automotive bolts, but they have a wide selection of just about every type of hardware and fasteners ...

We just had a new Tractor Supply store open nearby about 6 months ago here--I like the fact they sell nuts and bolts by the pound, few if any hardware stores do any more--most of their other parts and stuff in the store is very high priced though, compared to other sources..I can buy a kevlar v-belt at a NAPA or other auto parts store for 5-10 bucks less than at Tractor Supply..

.their lines of clothes and boots are way out of my price range too-a regular show store can beat them by quite a bit...after pricing their oils and other lubes and parts,I wont be buying much there, the truck supply store sells bulk oils in 5 gallon pails for much less, the same brands too...you really need to shop around now,it used to be every stores rices were pretty much the same, not any more...The 2 times I have gone to Tractor Supply to get something, they were "out of stock"--so before I go 10 miles to find out they lack what I need next time I will CALL first!...

I have a place a few miles away called "NUTZ" that sells all kinds of nuts, bolts, screws, moulding clips,etc...only bummer is the guy has sparatic bussiness hours and is often not open ,when he's out on the road trying to increase sales to his customers who keep things in stock he sells--he goes around and takes inventory and keeps their bins filled ..seems like every time I go there he is not at the store!...but when you catch him there chances are good he'llhave what you are looking for,and gives you a good deal on them..

Classic has them all in one kit...for the interior...they have most of the others too...

I can also gather one of each type screw I need and see if the local metal fastener company can match them...I found out that the dash bezel screws can be bought for $0.08 cents each...they are .59 cents each online...
