Seafoam???

seafoam worked wonders in my S-10 with 283k on the ticker. Seafoam broke free an old boat motor (circa 1970), cleaned the carbs, valvetrain, and intake manifold!

So where do you get this stuff? And how much is it? Will it fix a knock?

I have seen it at Auto Zone for a few bucks. I just talked to my mechanic that handles all the big stuff i can't do about it, he said "Shhhh thats and old trade secret" i then asked do you use it here in your shop? he said "I plead the 5th":haha:

LOL I have seen it on shelfs in 2 shops when I went in back to look at something on my car the mechanic wanted to show me..:haha:
I also saw cans of Justice Brothers sitting next to them.

And I used it in my s-10 Blazer when it wasn't running quite right, after 1 1/2 cans it runs great.

So it cleans the carbon deposits in the engine???? What else are the benefits that are noticable. And ryoken, putting in the gas tank is ok too? I may have to get me some of this stuff. Thanks, Hoby

I have also been told you can put it in your oil before you do an oil change, i hurd it will get ALL the gunk out. but only run it in there for a few hundred miles.

ok DONT run it in oil...i BELIEVE thats what killed mine. yes it will clean out the passages...but it COULd cause tehm to latch together thereofre clogging it. i believe it clogged the passages to the cam and it was then starved for oil...not good. lol

BUT it does work WONDERS on the combustion protion of the motor.

I've used it for the last 3 years. Put it in every gas motor I own. Motorcycle, Mower, chainsaw, weedeater even the 2-stroke 3 wheeler. Works great.

I put it in every truck I own. Put it in the 79 k5 and it sat for a year and a half behind the garage. Put in a fresh battery, pumped the gas about 10 times, fired right up. No joke.

They also make an additive called Trans Tune. My 89 was slow to go in reverse. Poured in a bottle and shifted great. Of course then I had the tranny flushed two weeks later.

Thier areosol Deep Creep is Ok. I like PB Blaster better, but its better than WD-40.
It also works as a gas stabilizer if you planning on storing our vehicle.

Hope this helps
Bruiser

Oh yea, My local NAPA stocks it. They order 4 cases a week. Can't keep it in stock.

Trev1981, I'll look on the can , I think it said " Any combustion engine" But I havn't tried it in a diesel. I'll look and let you know.

Hmm, I thought the can said you could add it to the crank case...I have two cans, one to put in the gas, and one for the motor, can someone tell me exactly how I use it on the motor?

Used it quite a bit on Motorcycles, and as a gasoline preservative prior to storage. Run a can through my vehicles every once and awhile too, good stuff. Never tried it in the oil, but I think the directions are on the can.

You can use it in the crankcase, but it's like engine flush, it'll knock stuff lose, so be prepared to drop your oil pan.

so, if I don`t use it in the crankcase, how else do I use it in the motor? Sucking it through the PCV?

Pretty much, yeah. Directions are on the can!

I've used it directly through the throttle body, vaccuum lines, oil, and gas tank.

Yeah get 2 cans, pour one in the tank and the other through the brake booster vacuum line, smokes like a chimney for 10-15 minutes and you're done.

what does the exhaust? do I poor it down with the engine running? Can I put it in the PCV line?

I hate to beat this into the ground but if I put seafom in my fuel tank will it:
A; smoke through the whole tank of fuel?

B; Will it be better through the intake rather than dilute it in the fuel tank?

A- No
B- Both

Throught the fuel, it will clean your injectors, or for carbed, remove any buildup you have in your jets.
