Seafoam

The stuff works wonders...

My last go round of seafoam I had a county sheriff fly up behind me out on the back road... He came hauling ass through the smoke cloud to check out what was going on.

He must have seen the big white cloud and I think he thought I was doing burnouts. :D

He decided I was doing no harm after he realized that it was some smoke coming from the tailpipe.

Time to tie in a vaccuum line into the cab with a valve on it hooked to a can of sea foam ... Would be fun to roll up to a diesel and go... "payback time a$$hat" :D

I tend to agree with the statement above about putting in the crank case. I would also be scared to loosen up too much junk and have it cause other issues. You can do the same thing with a quart of ATF (plus oil) in the crank… run it for a 20 min or so and then drain / refill with new oil and filter. I have done that before in the past with another truck.

I was thinking today, that with damn near 200K on it another can might be worth while to get what might still be stuck on.

What do you guys think, might it be worth running another can through? I know I dont have to worry about the crankcase, thats sparkling new looking due to the massive oil pan leak I had, requiring fresh oil almost constantly. I might do the fuel system shock like previously mentioned too. Ive never put any sort of FI cleaner through the tank in this truck that I can remember.

Love the sea foam! Works good in my snowmobile. Haven't felt the need in the blazer or crewcab just yet.

Just got back from doing the Seafoam poured into the TBI. HOLY SMOKE CLOUD. I parked the truck in the middle of an empty large parking lot (probably 200-300 spaces). Poured the Seafoam into straight into the TBI. The engine sputtered and stopped. I let it sit for about a minute then poured the rest of the can into the TBI. Walked around the parking lot for about 15 minutes. Walked back to the and it fired right up... Two huge mistakes I made... 1st mistake... Tailpipe was upwind and the door was open. I got smoked pretty hard in the cabin. Imagine the cab filled with white cotton balls and you are at the wheel. It was very thick smoke. I bailed out the open door and laughed quite a bit. 2nd mistake... I did this on a Navy base, and this cloud got the attention of a Security squad car quite fast, and he rolled up with lights flashing. He thought it was a fire. I told him all was good, he laughed about the cloud a few times, and he drove off.

I also added a can to the oil change I did today. More on that after I flush it out next week. I decided to do a cheapest oil/filter possible change out with the Seafoam added after the oil was changed. I will let it run for a week, and then will be switching to Synthetic. My idea was that before I make the switch to synthetic flush as much of the old oil/crap out would be better than a standard regular straight to synthetic switch. Anyway... I'll let you know how it works out if anyone is interested.
