Seal Direction?

What is the correct way to put these axle seals in? Not the technique, just which side faces up. Thanks.

It's a little hard to see in the pic, but the top pic looks like the air side up, and bottom pic looks like the oil side is up. The larger lip of the seal always faces the oil.
