Can anyone help me how to find one. If I ask a dutch junk yard holder for a 12bolter he does not know what I'm talking about. On what vehicle were these standard?

P.S. Changed the signature on request.

Any GM 1/2 ton truck made before 81 will have the 12 bolt. You might also ask for a Semi floating 6 lug 14 bolt available in 3/4 ton Suburbans and trucks from 87 up. It's stronger than a 12 bolt and would probably have 3.73 or 4.10 gears.
They way you tell GM axles appart is counting the cover bolts. 12 bolt has 12 bolts. Now some GM trucks had Dana axles. A Dana 44 front also has 10 bolts like a 10 bolt GM does.
Here is something you can print out for the Junkyard to help locate what your looking for. communities.msn.com/OffroadK5s

But remember some 2 wheel drive PickUps and 12bolt out of a car have a 5 lug bolt pattern on the wheel instead of a 6 lug the K5 has.
Good luck

No need to seek any further. I have 3 12Bolts rear axles. I'll let you have one for free. I don't know the ratio, because I did not even open one of them. I just did not have the time to put one under yet. And to tell you the best news of all, I am Dutch too. So there are no shipping costs. Just tell me where you live or give me your phone number and we see what we can do.

I wonder why I didn't notice you here before, but after a small research I saw you only just registered here, and even more recent, just bought your blazer. Congrats to that. Sure nice to see another Dutch K5 rider.

And to the rest, I think I keep most of the answers to her in English, not Dutch, because I need you guys to back me up on the technical stuff.

Anyways. A warm welcome to you Lana.

Let's all chip in and send that 12 bolt front axle to the Smithsonian.
