I saw a post before where someone used a wrench on their caddy caliper for the rear e-brake

i really want to get my e-brake working, and cant seem to find any post with good pics or any part store who knows anything. so either i'll have to rig my own or find the stock parts. cant anyone help me?
76-78 eldo rear calipers is what i have

Here ya go.
I still have the one that I made, I ended up cutting off the back half and actually making it look good. I could send it to ya if ya want:D

Yea the plate is just welded to the top of the axle tube. I believe the hole is 1/2" but it needs to be able to have the cable snap into the hole.
Next bolt the wrench to the caliperand turn it counter clockwise till it runs out of slack (you will know what I mean when you try it). Then you need to fab up the little bracket with a slot cut into it for the cable to slide into. Next just weld a little cap over the hole to keep the cable in there.
Now just hold the bracket up to the wrench and weld it in.
Did that make sense??

makes sence, but whats the springy part over the cable, should i have that already? oh and did it work well?

Is there any reason somebody isn't making these levers?

I mean we are seeing 3 speed transfercases, and new gearsets for 205's, and somebody can't make stamped steel e-brake levers? :)

yea the spring is on the cable stock.
I only ever got around to hooking up the 1 side but with just that one side it would hold my blzer VERY well on a hill (my driveway).

Last time I checked which was about 1.5 years ago I could still get them from AC Delco, find a good parts guy and they can get them for you, they are under brake hardware.

Collecting parts to build my 14bff.Will be doing the disc conversion, are you guys reusing the stock cables from the drum brakes?

I know the springs available are for the wrong calipers, IIRC, you can still get levers as well, but not for the '76-78 Eldo stuff. :(

Yep, still got the lever too! It's actually a fairly complex piece for its size. Something that would really help would be pictures of someones setup with all the levers in place and cables hooked up. The ones with the wrench will work but I need a view from straight on. I mean, taken from above the axle tube.

If you get the dimensions of the little hex part, a machine shop should be able to have a hexagonal die that they can just stamp that part out and you can bend part of it to put in the cable. Thats what im going to be doing.

my caddy calipers

just put the first side of mine on last night and should be finished with the entire setup sometime in the next week...ill throw pics of mine up when im done.
