From 1989-1991 the Blazer Silverado package had color match plastic on both the male and female parts of the seatbelt with the retractor mounted midway on the pillar.

The other packages from approx 81-91 had brushed steel on the male and female parts of the seatbelt with a different retractor setup. Does this type of retractor mount in the same place? It doesn't look the same to me like it might mount closer to the floor. Does anyone have a non Silverado package Blazer that can clear this up for me?

See picture below of 81-91 non Silverado seatbelt.

I'm pretty sure ALL of the blazers used the same seat beat set-up. Trucks are different though as the retractor mounts to the floor (or very near the floor).

My old 76 blazer had the same seat belts that my 89 blazer has.

It looks identical to my old 91' suburban. Mounted on the base of the seat rather than the pillar.

Different setup compared to the 89-91 blazer though.

Thanks for the follow up fellas! I was thinking that they might work with the ones that mount in the pillars like mine but I dont think it would look right. Has anyone ever used the floor retractor seatbelts to mount in place of their old pillar mounted ones?

I have that same thing in your photo. I'm going to take it apart and see what pieces are transferable. I have several k5 blazer seat belt parts that I have picked up at the pick and pulls. I would like to build a nice one for the k5. The one in your photo has two spools.

btw - I recall going to the dealer back in the mid 90's. Even by then the seatbelts were discontinued.

Yep back to the drawing board for me too. I have been in search of some 89-91 color match saddle colored cores for quite some time time. I found someone who can restore them but they need the proper color cores. I am still looking for a driver side. The ones I found in the picture were OEM but not the style I need for my truck.

I'll take a look at the junk yard for you the next time i'm there. They usually have every color but the gray that my Blazer has.

Who do you know that can restore them? What is the cost?
