I don't know if this is the right section or not...but can anyone tell me the correct bolt size for the front bucket seats in a '75 Jimmy? I've tried searching here, and a Google search...but have found conflicting answers, in what little I have found. Also need the seatbelt bolt size. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

Being a 75 it will probalby be Imperial (US) .. I assume you are talking about the bolts holding the seat to the floorboard.

I would get a few various cap screws / bolts from the hardware store and try them.. it will probably be a 3/8-16 X 1" Body Bolt

It will probably be course (USS) and not fine (SAE)

My front seats are held in by the 3/8-16 X 1" Body Bolts

Seat Belt Bolts will be something different ... if you have a thread gauge you could try to measure the inside of the hole and see what the pitch is and figure out USS / SAE - Imperial / Metric

EDIT: Once you know the size, you should consider buying a tap and run the threads with the tap to make the installation of the bolts easier.

Also, Once you determine the Seat Belt Bolt .. I would use a grade 5 minimum preferably a Grade 8 in addition once everything is cleaned up I would use some "Blue" thread lock sealant on the seat belt bolts only.

I noticed on my 85, as I removed the seat belt bolts they were extremely difficult due to thread lock. on my existing bolts there is still blue thread lock in the grooves. I am going to use some solvent and a die nut chase the threads and reapply new thread lock on re-installation ...

RESEARCH for yourself .. Blue allows for removal, and Red ... is more of a permanent locking compound. It can be removed, but requires a process.
