So I need to mount some '05 Silverado seats in my 91 Blazer, there's a couple of inches difference between the OE floor bolt holes and the new seats so I need to come up with something to mount them. I'm not an experienced fabricator so I tend to be a little unimaginative and 2 dimensional so I thought I'd ask for ideas / advice.

I was thinking of getting some C channel the height I want (3") to build the brackets, running a piece on each side front to rear with cross ties (laid on it's side, using a "lip" for each bolt pattern).

Desired thickness? 1/8" enough? 1/4" seems like overkill.

WWCK5D ?

1/8 is fine. You're on the right track with 3D parts vs flat stock, but I'd use angle, like maybe 1" x 1" x 1/8". Easier to weld than channel IME. Plus I think the "standard" 3" channel is C3x5 which is 1/4".

I'd just make a coupla boxes with angle, if that makes sense, cut 45's on each corner, and use your arrow magnet to keep the corners square.

Also, tack the whole thing together and clamp the living shit out of it when you go to finish weld. Otherwise the heat will warp the thing so bad you'll end up throwing a mis-shapen piece at your garage door in a fit of anger.

Or so I've heard, cuz I've never done that myself.

Great pics @Green Monster but your front seats look to be basically mounted at floor level, I feel like mine need to be raised about 3".

Thanks, I tend to like a low seat, but the drivers seat is power and I can raise it. And the passenger seat is low too, but I don't really care. They're lucky to have a ride!

Getting close to mounting my front seats, any more input / ideas? Lots of good designs and ideas here now, just thought I'd bring it back up before going further. Fwiw, I'm still thinking I need a 3" rise.

@TuckerK5 how did you mount your front seats?

I used Summit's universal brackets mated to angle that I cut and drilled for my fronts (no welding). Had to get more elaborate with square tube that I cut and welded in the back.

This is the one I used

Mine were already in my truck when I got it.
It looks like the PO just drilled holes in the floor to match the bracket on the Tahoe seats.
Not how I would have done it.
Hoping to start my own build from scratch soon.
