Hey guys,

Trying to get my interior to match. Getting my factory seats reupholstered is crazy more expensive than I thought (250 per bucket, 350 for bench). I figured at that rate a guy could just by different seats altogether (except the bench obviously). I would rather just get like the saddle blanket fabric seat covers though, I think they look nice in a tan color, are durable and affordable.

So the questions become:

Does anyone have a good source for seat covers like that for the factory K5 seats (hopefully bench even)?

Or

Where would you just order new buckets from for less than that reupholstery price?

Thanks for the help! Once this is done, the truck is basically done, with pics to come.

Well back a few years ago I bought seat covers for my blazer, the saddle blanket style, they had them in buckets and bench, I made the bench cover work for my rear seat.
They look good enough for me and they cost very little, I got mine from Autozone but all the car places carry them.

250 per bench is a great price. Does that include putting new foam in them?

Or just the recovering?

I got custom seat covers for both of my benches in my crew cab. They I believe were around 400 bucks for both benches. They are designed to fit just the bench seat I have. They actually have patterns taken from the factory seat. Haven't put em on yet though

I'm in the same situation and puting my interior back together. I'm on the lookout for a decent set of those saddle blanket covers, but i wont need them for at least a month or so. If i find a set i'll let you know. But if you find a good set that fits decent first, let me know.

Call Ken at www.seatcoverman.com (1-866-SEATMAN)

I'm using one of his saddle blanket covers for the front bench in my burb and the fit was great. It's still just a seat cover so you've got to deal with stringing the cord through the loops and adjusting everything until it sits just right but his prices were unbeatable and the quality is far higher than anything you'll find in a parts store.

Very cool project 496 truck, smart too. i think finding the seats might be tricky though, especially in a tan color.

thanks for the links so far guys, I will check them out.

you know, I would pay a little more to get all new bucket seats if they reclined, had integrated seat belts, and mounted to the factory bolt holes....anybody know a place like that?

Not sure where you are at but I have a perfect set of buckets out of a 2008 Silverado, both electric (and working), armrest's, built in seatbelts and tan that I bought for my blazer and decided not to use.

Many years ago, I was having some problems riding with my father in his truck. I was considerably taller than him, and he liked the bench seat up close.
Which resulted in my knees up around my ears.
I found a bolt in replacement that gave us three seats instead of the one bench. Two buckets, that were individually adjustable with some recline, and a center small seat with a fold down armrest/storage box with cup holders.

Fold up the armrest, and it was perfect for the dog.

Not a clue as to where I got it now, but I'm sure they are still out there. I'll look around.

thanks for the offer JBerno, but I'm staying away from electrical. I think I've settled on the seat covers I might could get, but before I buy those I'm going to keep looking for some kind of seat with seatbelt combo.
