I'm becoming frustrated with not finding any front seats that I can live with. I have chopped the top off my K5 so I don't have the upper shoulder belt mounts anymore. I had planned to install 01-06 Sierra seats but have not found any decent ones plus I don't think they make climbing into the rear easy at all. I have a nice rear out of a 2014 Tahoe in ebony cloth.

My idea is to just mount the belts to a rollbar like the Jeep Cjs them use a CJ seat base with a matching tahoe front seat attached. The CJ seat flips way forward out of the way. Would this work?

It really depends on who needs access to the rear seats. I've got 02 Silverado seats in mine. Had them in my 75 before. For kids getting into the back it was fine. No, the Silverado seats don't give as much room to pass by as the stock setup but it's not too bad. They actually slide forward pretty far.

Never seen cj brackets used.

P.S. Cool thing about the summit seats is 4 points work great with no upper hardpoint

I am in the same boat. I was looking at Corbeau Suspension seats with Wedge company Seat frames underneath. I think it will be straight forward to make a hinged release for the passenger side, getting the hardware out of the wrecking yard out of a 2 door car with a back seat. I think its doable. The seats are around $600 for the pair. I have read some great reviews of the suspension seats.
