I've got a 77 K20 with the old style shoulder belts with 2 retrachers and 3 mounting points. Every time you hit bumps the seatbelt tightens and ratches you into the seat. Has anyone swapped in belts from a new style 81-86 truck? Thanks!

i have an '87 with the SAME problem. the newer belts alone might not fix the issue.... let me know if you find a solution though!

i just get sucked into my seat, but if i open the door they let go? i dont know if thats normal.

I don't think they are any different, the ratcheting is just the way they work. If you aren't up against the back of the seat, they are doing their job getting tight against you. They SHOULD loosen up though once things settle down.

You could buy those little plastic pieces that keep the belt a bit looser, although I hate those things because they always get caught in the door when you get out. :)
