I have an 81 K5 that I am restoring. I was thinking of buying another seats (front and back). When I see it on ebay I usually just see front or back. Does anybody know of good junkyards that sell online that could have a complete sets?

Most places just sell based on front or rear. Just gonna have to find the year range of seats you want

Or just hit up a junkyard that will still let you out in the yard

I have to import from US because there is no way to find it in Iceland. I am hoping there are some companies that I can buy directly from.

The same years Tahoe or Escalade front and third row make a nice combo. The 2000-2006 front buckets are the same on Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban and Cadillac Escalade. I have 2004 Silverado front 8 wqy power and 2004 Tahoe third row twin seats.

Thanks, thats something like I was thinking off. I am not going to buy them right away but probably within next two years.

Does anybody know how much seats like that would cost? What I have seen on ebay has been around $3,000 and I am looking for something cheaper ($3,000 will be around $5,000 when I have imported it to Iceland and thats to much for seats in and old K5).

I bought my 05 Silverado front seats locally for $200 and my Tahoe 3rd row rear sear for $350 shipped off of ebay, I would think you could get a set for under $600-$700 US before shipping. One issue I had while searching was that leather seats are much more common than cloth but they are usually cracked / torn / rough, I ended up going with cloth because I couldn't find nice leather seats without paying a TON of money. I also noticed that if you're willing to spend the money an Escalade 3rd row seat has some cool cup holders that regular Tahoe and Suburban seats don't.

@K30Blazer has a thread here in the Garage forum with plans for a 3rd row seat bracket, search for "Escalade".

I bought my 05 silverado front seats with integrated armrests and belts for $50. My rear seat is out of a similar vintage burban and it was $100. The burban seat had never been used, and the front seats were a little dirty, but they had no rips.

I bought everything off of craigslist. I think junkyards want wayyyy to much money for these by me.

I just did a quick search and these popped up. I think they'd be super slick, although I prefer the full bench.

Thevjunkysrds around me want a couple hundred up to 1000 for a complete set of seats. But you still need to build a seat bracket to bolt it into your truck once you have them.

I picked up a set of 2000 Tahoe seats and a Tahoe third row as well. The third row was $50 at pull a part.

You don’t really need to build brackets for the front seats. You just drill holes for the bolts that don’t line up and add some big washers/plate underneath.

The rear seat brackets are stupid easy to make. I just used angle iron and some steel rod.

I got enough rust issues I don’t want to just start drilling extra holes. And it’s way harder to do that on my 72. It doesn’t sit the same way as a newer blazer. The way the seats are sitting are not the same in every truck. If it worked for you then good. I haven’t tried this yet but I’ve seen others say the stock ones don’t sit right and they had to modify the stock brackets to fit. I’m looking for a set myself to try out.

I didn’t realize you had a 72. I have no experience with those front floors, but the rear seat mounts should be the same.

Rear is lifted up on the older ones. The rear seat is almost on the floor so you have head room. His 81 I have no clue. I think the raised floor stopped in 76 or 78. I think I’m going to do a newer Silverado front bench myself. I like the versatility of a possible third person up front if needed.

The floor isn’t “raised”. All blazers have the rear seats mounted in the bed floor. It’s the same for any year. Later blazers have deep footwells because the lower passenger floor is extended. This did not affect the height of the bench.

I’m confused. You say you don’t want to drill holes, but now you’re talking about mounting a Silverado bench seat. Depending on which model year you are thinking of, those mount exactly the same as the buckets with an extra center seat section that requires more drilling.
