Anyone have an s.e.c spare tire carrier mounted with their o.e.m. bumper? If so what's your opinion on it. It looks like a sturdy unit, emailed them for a price, but still waiting for a reply.

is anybody using one of these?

They look like they cover up too much of the back window for good visibility... I would actually like to hear some feedback on this because I really like the looks of it...

I'm assuming that if the tire were lower then it would get in the way when you need the clearance... would like to see a carrier that can be raised and lowered according to the driving condition as well as swing out in either position...

I am running one. I have no problems with seeing. I mean yeah, you will lose some rear viewing area with the tire there but it doesn't hender my driving in any way.

Hey, that is a REALLY sharp K5!!!

The paint only looks good in the pictures. It is the orginal paint that is oxidize on the hood and on the roof so it really looks bad from the top, but i am not complaining.

Wookie- I am running 35" BFG MT on 15x10" Hellcats. I still have 10 bolts, i have put a detroit locker in the rear and an Aurburn LSD in the front. Hope they hold up for a while since i can't afford beefer axles and new rims & tires to go with it.

you rig looked like it had 35's with a 10 bolt on it. That is why I was asking... I would love to run that combination, but I didn't know how well it would hold up.

I've also been considering the going to a 12 bolt instead of a 14 bolt, and then putting ord's shaft in the front 10 bolt for extra strenght... time will tell. I love the hell cats!!

You paint job looks nice enough I wouldn't be concerned with a little on the top and hood if the paint is just oxidized... It looks way to nice to tinker with...

Yeah, i love these centerline wheels. This is my second set, i had a set of Scorpions on my old 1980 pickup and i loved those. The only thing is i am pissed off b/c my centercap bolts are rusting where the allen wrench goes in. My others didn't do this.
As for the 10 bolts, they came stock w/ 30 spline axles, so i believe they should hold up for a while. Here is another pic from this past weekend that i took...

Hey thanks.
I will keep you posted. The procomp lift rides great! No complaints yet and it has been on there for over a year.

$530 plus $40 for the highlift mount, comes with new bumper brackets and a subframe. I think I'm gonna do it, of course it'll probably cost me about $5,000 Canadian! You know that hot lookin' red and black truck looks just like the one I saw when I clicked on the s.e.c. banner, I agree with everyone else, nice truck! Mine's got the same paint except it's grey where you have red.

K5Junkie where did you get those front shock mounts? Do they accomadate longer shocks? Nice k5 too.

My truck has the black and grey 2 tone and is heavily oxidized. Hadn't washed it in years also. Last week when the weather was real nice I decided to wash off the winter grime. It was clean but super dull, figured I'll paint it next year when I get a HVLP gun. Had some Mothers products I used on my Honda Accord and tried it on the truck on a small area of the fender and hood. Whoa was it ever shiny and slippery. The paint looked like it was new again. Plan on doing the whole truck real soon. Didn't think it would help but they worked excellent.

Hey mike (freeforever) I'll give ya 200 if you make me one. I asked S.E.C. too 530 ya exactly what are ya gettn' for half grand and then the freight would kill ya it would be a thousand

Denis, is there anyone local that can fab up a carrier for you? Even if it's to save on shipping and exchange. Not to take any business away from S.E.C. they look like great products but when stuff comes across the border we get nailed BIG TIME. So much for free trade. I'd order more stuff from the states but the exchange and shipping are the killers.

84k5 - The triple shock mount are Rancho shock mounts. Looking back of how much of a pain in the butt it was to install them, i would not do it again. I would though go the same route that Steve did on the UAV and install Furd shock towers. Much, much simplier.
