I happen to come across a photo from 1994 showing Former President Clinton out jogging with the usual Secret Service folks trailing not far behind. Interesting enough, the picture shows a older style black Suburban. Upon closer examination, in appears this is a pre 1989 (body moldings) Suburban. I surprised the Service was still using burbs that old. I wonder if this is the one that they ended up giving to the Ronal Reagan museum. I know they have a black 1980's Suburban on display next the presidential plane.

See link.

Cool. It sure beats the new ones, that much is clear. If I were president, I'd offer an executive order stating that all Suburbans in the government fleet are to be pre-1992 models! :p:

If I were president, I'd offer an executive order stating that all Suburbans in the government fleet are to be pre-1992 models! AND come with Dana 60 front axles, have 38 to 44 in tall tires, a doubler setup and a big block, be fully caged and have trimmed sheet metal :p:

There, I fixed it for ya. :wink1: :haha:

looks like its 2wd

I'm sure it's armor plated! Obviously these don't go to your govt auction. Are they not reduced to scrap by the govt?

Better yet, they could be brought out to the middle of the ocean and dropped off the boat under the color of darkness?

Those are just for security detail, they are not armored. If they didn't go to auction, they most likely went to small municipality.

Well...it's in a museum...so either it had a complete resto right before they threw it in there and it'd fire right up and doesn't leak...or they just drained all the fluids out of it and it's a purdy Suburban exhibit.
