ok Ive removing this thing is easy but WTF I took out the 4 bolts and the pitman arm and the thing will move about 3/4 inch but then it feels like somethings holding it in, any suggestions? and Ive searched

Make sure the steering wheel is straight. Beyond that, it beats me....BFH if you're not too concerned about the box.

I tried a BFH and the box isnt even in the car its the doner 2wd box

There were never any snap rings on my shafts...?

There is a snap ring in there on the lower part of the shaft ..
when you take the arm off look up into the area where the shaft goes and on the outer area of the shaft is a snap ring..
Just above the end of the splined area in this pic..
It is about 1/4-1/8 up into the box above the splines
Not my pic but you get the idea..

That is all mine took nothing else holds them in that I know of..
When it moves that 3/4 dose the top cover move at all..(it is all one piece) If not then LIGHTLY tap it up while trying to pry/unstick the top cover..but remeber that is the sealing area too
That is all I did to both the doner box (on the floor) and the 4x4 box in the rig that I did to get them both out once the cover came up I grabbed it and finshed taping up on the shaft till I could pull it out by the cover

yea the cover moves w/ it I cant figure this out for the life of me  :angry1:

Try moving the cover back and forth while tapping upward on the shaft
Sorry that this is becoming a pain in the arse.. :(

AFAIK , the sector shaft must be centred to come out.
Just crank it full right , left , find centre and it will line up and pull out
This is what my friend just did the other day to put the 2WD one into the 4X4 steering box for cross over steering.
Hope this helps , good luck.

BTW , when you get them out be careful not to turn them or you will have to totally re-build the box
