Can someone steer me in the right direction on how to see pictures instead of red x's??? I am a paid member, but most of the time the pics are just those annoying red x's!!!!

Thanks
Brent!

Are you accessing from home or work? I know my work network won't allow linked pictures to be viewed(ie, photobucket, etc)

Embrace the Red X, love the Red X

Try this: http://malektips.com/internet_explorer_7_0022.html

I see some pics just not all. Would it have something to do with the posts on this site being really old? It seems to only do it when i search for older stuff.

I tried using Google Chrome with same result:

Here is the link i am talking about.

Can you guys see all the pics like post #29.

Let me know!

It says file not found for the link. But yes, some older posts have red x's due to pics having been removed from the sites they were attached from or any number of other instances.

Time marches on.....

A lot of times the photos originally embedded in a thread get moved or deleted from the hosting site, and the link on CK5 becomes invalid. I know for a fact that I've got TONS of old photos in my threads that don't point to anything anymore, and I just spent HOURS reparing broken photo links in my "Might As Well" thread. A lot of guys just won't bother to go back and fix theirs.

Another thing that might help you understand more about the red X is to do a "right-click" over it and when you get the dropdown menu click "Properties"... that will usually show you the URL where the photo is supposed to be located. Sometimes, going to that site directly and searching in the related subdirectory can get you the pic you want. If nothing else it will help you understand which URL sites aren't displaying properly so you can start to isolate if the problem is really with your browser (not likely) or just problems with the links themselves.

Example of one of my broken links:

But, if you do the right-click thing....you'll see this as the URL path:

http://www.norcalbigdawgs.net/Gallery/albums/album34/DSC00173.jpg

If you go directly to the www.norcalbigdawgs.net site you'll see that the entire site is screwed up which explains why there is no visible photo.
