1988 suburban 3/4 ton 14b rear and 10b front...I have a detroit locker in the rear but I would like to lock my front. This is going to be a daily driver in the winter so a selectable is the only option I can think of. What is available besides an arb? I dont want to lose any storage space for an air tank. I would love an OX locker but you cant get them for a chevy 10bolt??? Can you get an OX for a chevy dana44? If so switching axles might be something to think about. Also can anyone tell me if I have a 28 or 30 spline axle? It is a 88 burb V20 3/4 350tbi I know they changed the body style that year but I have the old body style with a tail gate. Also I was looking at a detroit true track for the front 10b I heard they are a limited slip diff...anyone have any experience driving with one in the snow while in 4x4? Would you be able to steer?

For selectable locker check out Eaton e-Lockers. They are good units. Eaton makes them for front 10b axles. GM uses them on Hummers.
Detroit also makes a electric locker.
As for splines. You should have 30 spline axles on the front. But you should check it out make sure. 88 was the change over year when GM went from 27 spline to 30 spline. They may have used up their old stock and put 27 spline axles in some of the early 88s.
As for the Trutrack I think it is one of the best limited slip axles for the front.
I had a LS in the front of my old Scout. It went good in the snow.

I ran a powertrax in the front of mine, all winter (lots of snow and ice). I just leave the hubs locked in and drive in 2wd until 4wd is needed. It worked fine and is alot cheaper than a selectable.
