selectro hubs??

They are supposed be be good. I wouldn't hesitate to use them. The hub is like a giant knob, yes?
 
Here's the actual ones for a 10 bolt/dana 44. I've got a set, brand new in the box someone gave me, sealed up for the last 23 years :eek1:

mine dont look like that they just look like standard hubs...ill see if i can get a pic tonight
 
WOW! I've never heard of those. what years did they come on? will they fit on a 30 spline 10 bolt?
would be a cool addition to my show rig.
 
Yes they will fit on a 30 spline 10 bolt. All Chevy D44's & 10b's came with 19 spline stubs hubs will fit any of them as long as they are not the big external style.

Those are the newer style that were manufactured by Milemarker. The old school versions were actually made by Bestop Dualmatic Inc. out here in Longmont, Colorado. Not sure if that company has anything to do with the Bestop we know today for it's vinyl tops for trucks :confused:
 
I liked the Selectro style hublocks. I had a set on my '71 Jimmy and just recently replaced them with Warn Premium set. The Selectro's were nice because you can just grab them with your meathook and twist rather than trying to lever your thumb and forefinger. This is especially nice when your hands are numb and everything is crammed full of ice and snow.:wink1: I went with the warn to replace them because of price.

You can still buy the old variety with the whole knob, but maybe just for some axles. I know for a fact you can still get them for Dodge external hub D60's.

so are theese as good as trhe spicer hubs???how bout in cnparrison to the warns you have..
 
I can't speak much to the Warns yet. I put them on when I was rebuilding my front dana 44 and converting to 8 lug. I haven't tested them on the road or trail yet. I'm in the process of fixing some floor rot, installing new body bushings and 1" body lift, and moving 14 bolt spring perches. I liked the selectros a lot They were very easy to engage and disengage. I'm keeping them for backups, but I decided to make everything up front new while I had my axle apart, clean and out of the truck. My selectros probably have a lot of hard miles on them judging by the condition of the rest of the truck. They were simple, looked like good material and machining, and worked fine with the 33 and 35" tires I had been ruunning. I'd recommend them, but I was able to get a new pair of Warns on ebay for less than the cost of one selectro around here.
