What all do i need to do to go about selling my DD?

This will be the first time i sell a vehicle. And wanna make sure i dont get jipped. While knowing what i need to do at the same time.

Any advice or suggestions?

Clean it up as much as possible. Having bought and sold a bunch of vehicles, I know it makes a difference.

find out what others in your region are going for in similar condition, and year, options etc. If you want more than average you need to show why its worth it. Rebuilt engine, trans stuff like that. How good are the maintenance records. First impressions make big points on a buyer.

I second this. Majority of buyers will make a decision based more on looks than anything else. They might even downplay existing problems if it LOOKS good. Not saying you need to lie, just that for most people, looks are the most important aspect of a vehicle.

it aint the purtiest thing. But runs awesome. The body is easily fixed with some time and money, which i dont have. Also its not what im needing so its time to get rid of it. the body is rough as its been a work truck. And some vandalism.

Ill slap the carpet back in.

I wanna get an 80's 3/4-1ton truck w/ 454 so i can tow. Or spend some more and get a 90's dodge diesel.

find the bluebook value on it, then sell it to me for half of that.

seriously, though, if it's scratched up, a cheap maaco paintjob can bring the price up a surprising amount. clean up the engine compartment. do not clean things so much that it looks like you're trying to hide something. that's a red flag, imo.

Blue book is 3800 for fair condition. Which is what its in. Paint is good condition, just surface scratches.

Id like 3500 if i can.
