Yes I searched, lol. I will hopefully be picking up a 6 lug semi float 14 bolt in a couple of weeks out late model 4x4.Axle will be going into an 84 chevy 1/2 ton 4x4. I have few questions:
Do I need a conversion u joint or can I swap the yoke from a ten bolt?

I will need new u bolts, spring perches, and shock mounts correct?. Does the semi float share the same spring pads, shock mounts, and u bolts?

What do I need to hook up the emergency brake cables?

Anything I missed?

Thank you for your time and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes the yoke will swap. Its been several years, but IIRC I swapped the cables from the 10B to the 14 semi in my 96' Z-71.

Later model into older truck? I believe you will have to move spring perches and shock mounts.

E-brake cables, as long as the new axle is drum brake also, should direct swap. ie, remove cables from 10b and install them into the 14bSF.

I didn't know the yoke would swap, that's new info to me. And if for some reason it doesn't, a conversion joint is a cheap fix.

I am 99% sure the 14bSF has larger axle tubes than the 10b. Exactly what size, I don't know.

Yes, ubolt size is I believe 3-3/8" versus 3" for the 10B and the spring perches will need to be moved.

doesnt the sf 14bolt have a 1330 u joint and the tenbolt have a 1310 or something along those lines?

1350 for the 14 bolts. I've heard the 10 bolt had 1310, s44, or 1350 u joints. It depends on the applications.

manual trans 10b rears had the 1350

Ya my u joint off my 10bolt bolted right up to my 14bsf.

Ebrake cables will swap from the 10bolt to the 14bolt sf

Spring perches and shock mounts will have to be relocated.

New bigger u-bolts will have to be used along with the top plate thingy

Brake lines bolt right up.
But remember the 14bsf has bigger brakes than the 10bolt and at least for me they tend to lock up before the front brakes, so get used to it or install a proportioning valve.

just out of curiosity....and since i have no clue about antilock brakes, can you get a semi floating 14 to work with the stock AL setup on the '90 and '91's?

I think all 14Bs are 1350. All the 10-bolts I've seen on Chevy have had 1330 yokes. I've only seen 1310 on Dodges.

Check my build thread in my sig and/or ask away. I just did this in August. You can use your current U-joint with your 14bsf, just swap the yoke from your 10b to the 14bsf. I did a disk brake conversion so I don't know about the e-brakes. I used the Ruff Stuff simple swap brackets. You have to burn off the old spring pads, bumpstop pads, and shock tabs on the 14bsf and weld in the new spring pads/shock tabs. I have the DIY shock inboarding kit and my axle side shock mounting is different. So when I ordered the simple swap, I called Ruff Stuff and they took the shock tabs off of my order and like $16-20.

If its a 6-lug from the early 90's trucks, the wms is almost exactly the same as the front, so your front and rear track widths will match. I forgot to get the measurement when I had my wheels off.

Any other questions ask away. Its still pretty fresh in my head
