I was thinking of leasing a Toyota Sequoia this year since i have twins on the way. Now i was thinking about canceling my truck insurance and using the money to buy a trailer for the K10 instead.

Question is, would the Sequoia handle the weight of a K10?

FROM THE TOYOTA WEBISTE

4.7-liter DOHC 32-valve i-FORCE V8 with VVT-i; 273 hp @ 5400 rpm; 314 lb.-ft. @ 3400 rpm

5.7 DOHC 32-valve i-FORCE V8 with dual independent VVT-i; 381 hp @ 5600 rpm; 401 lb. - ft. @ 3600 rpm

Curb weight (lb.)6030
Gross Vehicle Weight Rating - GVWR (lb.)7300
Towing capacity (lb.) (with Tow Package) 9100

I wouldn't do it, but I wouldn't put a damn Toyota in my driveway again. My understanding was that the 4.7 doesn't have much of a tow rating and the 5.7 doesn't get much mpg. My dad was comparing Sequoia to Tahoe before he bought. He's now the proud owner of a Tahoe w/ a 5.3. He's towed a lot with that and had no problems with a 27' travel trailer w/ slide. I'm sure more people will jump in to bash you for wanting to get a Toyota, so I'll just stop now.:D

I would say one with the 9,100 lb. towing capacity would do it (I'm sure only specific ones with the right options have that high of a rating). My 2500HD is only rated at about 10k towing.

That's more hp and about the same tq. numbers as my k3500... it tows great on the flats but loaded down with my k10 it's huffing and puffing on the big hills...
That being said I'm not sure about stability... my 1 ton is a crew cab long bed and it'll hold it's own but with something smaller you might get tossed around...
