quick question cuz im at work and cant dig around.

6.2L diesel was designed to fit where the SBC lived.

will SBC serpentine accessories bolt up to the 6.2L engine?

Or do i have to get the setup off of a 6.5L TD?

Hey you just answered your own question.

You will also need the front timing cover to be able to use the later model water pump. You will need the water pump because its a reverse rotation pump. I will be doing this swap shortly along with a turbo, just have to find the time.

hmmm..... ok. so generally speaking it seems i need a whole crap ton of stuff from a 6.5TD (as im looking to do the turbo swap at some point as well).

Is it possible to just take a 6.5L TD and make it mechanical like a 6.2L?

For instance, if i find a junkyard 6.5L TD, rebuild it on the engine stand while i still have the 6.2 in the truck. And then once the 6.5L is ready to go in, i pull the 6.2L out, set it next to the 6.5, what all would i have to swap to not need any computer controls???

Im guessing ill need a non-egr (f code???) intake manifold, swap my DB2 injection pump to the 6.5L TD..... am i missing anything? do i want to put my military spec 6.2L heads on the 6.5L TD block? or keep the 6.5L TD heads?

That way id have the turbo, serp setup, a fresh shortblock, the extra displacement and extra power, in roughly the same package.

The 6.5L had a mechanical injection pump in 1992-93 civilian trucks (Stanadyne DB2831-4911). The military 6.5L (HMMWV engine) is still mechanically injected also.
