Serpentine swap water pump

I am swapping in a serpentine belt system in my k20 pretty soon.

I keep thinking that I read something about a reverse water pump for the setup.

Is this true? Do I need to buy a different water pump?

If so, what year, make, and model has the pump I need. I need to tell the ignorant counter person at the parts store something

The serp water pump rotates the opposite direction of the older pumps. The fans have the opposite pitch to them as well.

Serp started in 1989 so tell them you have an 89 blazer. Yes, the fan is different also. Do yourself a huge favor though and buy a new waterpump pulley from the dealer. I just had my old pulley break in half on me and when i bought the new pulley it was superceded with a new number and was made twice as thick and a little different design. The part number is 10085760 and list for 18.55 and if you look at GMpartsdirect.com they sell for 10.55 or something stupid like that.
