Serpetine system from '91 Sonoma 4.3 on a '84 K5?

Will the serpetine belt system from a '91 GMC Sonoma with a 4.3 work on a 350 engine from an '84 K5?

My friend is swapping a V8 into his Sonoma, and wants to use his current belt system on a carbed 350, and he can get the 350 from an '84 K5 if it will work.

yes it will work the front of the engines are the same bolt pattern

He will need to change the water pump too. The serpentine system will spin the older water pump backwards = No Cooling. Serpentine water pumps are reverse rotation.

Uhh, 4.6 sounds like a Frrd engine.

The GM 4.3L V6 is basically a 350 V8 with the back two cylinders removed, which is why they have the same bolt pattern for accessories up front.

To actually answer your question I don't know whether the 4.3/350 stuff will cross over to the big block, but you'll have better luck finding if smallblock stuff will move to the BBC. (And I think, from my experience, the answer is no... but I could easily be wrong.)
