Set me straight on 205 issue

I'm picking up a 205, but it has a slip yoke. This came from behind a T400, so it should be a 32 spline output. Is it as simple as bolting on the output from another 205. Please inform.

Also, is a slip yoke really that bad.

As far as the slip yoke goes, I think that strength isn't so much an issue as convenience of trail repairs. If you mangle a fixed yoke shaft you can just remove it and drive home in 2x4. The same cannot be said for a slip yoke shaft. Once you remove it oil will leak from the output shaft hole.

I got a cheap Pick N Pull 205 from a 465 for $60 and used the parts to convert the slip yoke 205 I had.
You will also have the case to compare mods you need to do.
