In my shop. Doing stuff.
I can not find my White Lead for setting the gear patterns. Know body in town knows what that is. What are you guys using to check the pattern?

I've used yellow mustard several times when I was out of paint. It works as well if not better than the stuff that comes in the kits :dunno:

The stuff that came in my kit wasn't paint. In never dried. Donno what it is though.

What comes in the kits? Is it labeled?

some of the best stuff comes directly from GM...

but yeah, theres not a whole lot of special stuff to gear marking compound...i bet yellow mustard does work pretty well...lol

the stuff that comes with the kits is oil based from what i can tell. It dissolves with brake parts cleaner real quick.

Go down to the local arts and crafts store and buy a tube of white or yellow oil based paint. It's pretty thick and works quite well, just don't let the wife know where you are going she might just send you with a list.............and we all know how well the wife's lists work out. "I said the box with white writing and pink ends NOT the pink writing and white ends."

Not a bad idea about the paint.

My wife knows not to send me shopping for certain things anymore. :D today she called me and told me we needed a new thermometer because our son is sick and she wants to check his fever (the old thermometer is MIA). I offered to pick one up at lunch - she preferred that I run home and watch the kids to she could go get one. She got some fancy (expensive, I image) infra-red doctor recomended deal. If she had sent me I would have either gotten the $0.99 one, or one of these:
