Walter Tanog Foxtrot? SEVEN lug axles on a Ford??

Or do my eyes deceive me? (I nearly caused two accidents while sitting there at a stoplight counting and recounting...)

Yep, 7 lug wheels were used on F150's and F250's. It's a nightmare to find any used aftermarket wheels for them.

They didn't want to lose money to the aftermarket in wheels sales. They also never really made any wheels in house either. Just ford screwing another customer.

at least most of the newer F150's are 6 lug instead of 5 now.....is it hte same 6 lug as us?

but the newer 6 lug is not the std 6 lug like we run. ford still screwing you over.

Ok, i had no idea what it was. Just helped some random guy do a quick tire change (<5min wiht hand tools) on this new ford.

Today we had a '90 something ford e-350 van come in for an alignment. the hubcaps had seven lugs but when I saw it with them off, it had eight lugs, go figure

someone put F250 caps on their E350 is all. I used to think the 7 lug thing was just a hub cap mix up or something, but I work at a ford dealer, its not mistake.

ive seen quite a few vans with the 7 lug hub cabs before. not sure if it was e150, e250 or e350.

ive seen the ford 7 lug thing, took me a minute to realize that my eyes wern't playing tricks with me. must be a challange for the nebbie at the tire store trying to figure out the torque pattern to use.

just follow the ford tradition and do a circle around the problem. :haha:

My dad had one of the 7700 Furds for a couple of years. When he realized it had 7 lugs he asked the dealer where he bought it from and they told him it was because the rims prior to that had been a hot ticket for theft. They said they switched to the 7 lug ones to prevent that. :dunno:

we have a few trucks at work with 8 lug rims and 7 lug hubcaps...they look retarded and when the one i drive gets new tires next week im gonna forget where i put them(in the dumpster)

I remember the first time I saw that.... it is funny.... but from what I hear they saved MILLIONS by putting 1 lugnut less at each corner....:haha:
