I think both those rigs look sweet in there own right...and I never said bling is sexy, good looking or really anything. The crawler rig is cleanly done and does "look" good ie not an eyesore that makes our hobby look bad.

Sounds like you want something like the Guy in AL used to build. It was carier like many have built, but then covered with the stock chrome bumper. It looked slick, I sure someone still has a pic of it. Last I heard the guy had some MAJor health problems and wasn't building them anymore, but they wouldn't be hard to replicate.
One other reason your not going to see somthing like what was on that Toyota on a K5 is the the same reason you won't see one on an FJ-40. They are both Land Cruisers, but the newer models have bumpers that are intragated into the body lines. The K5 and FJ-40 (& the Scout, CJ, Patrol, ect.) have bumpers that kind of float out past the body. The newer TLCs, ZJ, WJ, X-terra, ect NEED an aftermarket bumper to fill in the area that was covered in plastic with the stock bumper.

Anyone know how to get a photo or two of his work the AL guy? That might be what I need.
I wish 4x4iron still made theres...that was a sexy and functional unit...esp with the tubular guards on it. Wonder if I could get the plans...is the builder of those a CK5 member?

if you like the 4x4iron one, I'd recommend taking some pics of it to a local 4x4 fab shop. They could probably replicate one for a decent price, it'd definitely fit your vehicle, and you wouldn't have to pay shipping...
