After searching for about a year I found a good deal on a sf14 bolt 8 lug axle with the 8 lug 10 bolt to go with it for $ 150 for the set. They came out of a 86 suburban k20. The rear axle looks real good a little cleaning and brakes and it looks like it ready to bolt in I just need to make sure the spring perches right. The front needs new axle shaft seals and brakes and its good to go. This is all going in my 90 blazer.

How can I get the old shaft seals out? I know I need to pull out the diff . And what a good place to get a new set of wheels from ? I just want a good set of steel wheels. And what's a good place to get u bolts from for the front axle?

Any thoughts or incite are welcome thanks Jim

If it's a SF axle, you don't need to pull the diff out to change the axle seals. Just the c-clips inside the diff to get the axleshafts out. Once they are out, head over to your local autoparts store and pick up a bearing and seal remover tool. It really makes it much easier to do the job and they usually loan them out for free once you return it. Pretty slick tool. It will also help in installing the new wheel bearing and seals as well.

Off Road Design has some new u-bolts for you. Give them a call..... (and it's just over the mountains from you so shipping would probably be pretty quick).

For wheels.....craigslist and patience.

It's the front 10 bolt that needs the seals. I was planning on pulling the wheels seals to clean out around the bearing and replace everything. My goal with swap is cut my old u bolts un hook my brakes and drive shafts and roll in new axles and hook up and bleed brakes and be done.

My bad.....I thought it was the rear. :doah:

Oh no problem thanks by the way I forgot to look in to what ORD has.

why do you want a SF14 8lug? Most ppl want a SF14 6lug. If you are going the distance, go 14bff. But that's too much of a debate.

Make sure the u-joint on the driveshaft is going to work with that 14b. I'm not up-to-date on SF stuff, but I know the FF needs a conversion joint. Shaft seals go in once the diff is removed. You might be able to get a slide hammer in there and pull them out, if not a long tube slid through the axle....hit with hammer...seals come out. IIRC. If this is being done, mine as well check bearings or change gears while you're at it.

Again, C-list for wheels or America's Tire/ 4WP, whatever. 4WP does free shipping sometimes on wheels, or $15 all the time, IIRC.
