Here is what I ended up with. I left all the springs except the overload in. The angle I ended up with is pretty extreme I think. It is a little worse since this pic was taken. I am thinking of the 6.5" shackles from Kert. Think that will help out with this? Anybody else have this issue?

Thats what i thought. I am not sure on the 6" or 7" shackle though. Any suggestions. I am also going to bumpstop these springs for uptravel to try and limit broken springs. They don't have much arch to them as it is.

Has anybody else ended up with a shackle angle like mine? What length shckle did you go with to correct it? I am leaning towards the 7", but I am not sure.

Stock shackle is ~4" right?

So with a 7" shackle I should net around 1.5" of lift?

Strange, my echobit was the exact opposite, shackle stands nearly vertical...

Oh well, fix that when I switch over to 63" springs :)

The angle looks bad, but your leaves are REALLY flat too....

It's going to be almost impossible to make that shackle rotate further back under compression.....the spring will go into negative arch and then pull the shackle FORWARD again!!! :yikes:

If the ride quality is OK and you plan on keeping those springs (add a bumpstop to prevent negative arch) it's probably not a bad angle. There will be lots of rotation available for droop travel and the shackle is unlikely to ever get "locked up" by rotating too far out of position and ending up backwards.

Yeah I am going to get the 7" shackle and limit uptravel to prevent spring breakage and go from there. It rides pretty soft right now. I got these springs from the Socal member with "Clifford" the big red Suburban so they have been used well.

I may add the leaf that was on top of the overload to see if it will prevent the pack from flattening out so much while static.

Ahh I love the leaf pack swapping game:crazy:
